UN Reports Over One Million Flee from Sudan to South Sudan

The United Nations organization announced that over a million people have fled Sudan to South Sudan, escaping from military actions between armies and rapid operational forces, which testifies to the growing scale of humanitarian crisis.

In a statement from the office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, it is mentioned that the majority of over a million displaced persons are citizens of South Sudan, who previously fled from the civil war that began two years after the proclamation of the new state in 2011.

Data published by the UN shows that over 770,000 people crossed the border through the Juba crossing in 21 months, while tens of thousands were directed to other regions of South Sudan, bringing the overall number of refugees to over a million.
